Biography
Dr. Loney is currently an Associate Professor in Public Health and Epidemiology in the College of Medicine at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai. He is a graduate of the University of Bath (UK) and has been admitted to the Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Membership of the Faculty of Public Health, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (London, Edinburgh and Glasgow).Dr Loney is an epidemiologist with broad interests and expertise in clinical and population-based research assessing the relationship between lifestyle, occupational, and environmental exposures and various health outcomes such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. His current research portfolio includes two large population-based prospective cohort studies: (i) The UAE Healthy Future Study; and (ii) Mutaba’ah Mother and Child Health Study. Dr Loney’spublished research output includes more than 40 peer-reviewed papers, government technical reports, and book chapters.
