The Mutaba’ah Study
The Mutaba’ah Mother and Child Health Study is the largest longitudinal birth cohort study in the United Arab Emirates. The Mutaba’ah Study is recruiting a minimum of 10,000 mother-baby pairs from the time of pregnancy until the child turns 16 years old. The data will allow following up the health of the mother during the pregnancy, and the health of the children throughout their lives to examine how social, economic, genetic, environmental and behavioral factors interact and impact their future growth and development.
The Mutaba’ah Study will also be the first to establish an epidemiological data bank on maternal & child health research in the country for use by national & international research communities. Our research aims at informing current & future evidence-based practices, prevention programs, world-class healthcare & policies for a healthier nation.
